He knew it.

You knew it.

The moment Jason had locked the two of you up in here. There was something big that was going to happen. He had released Kaneki from his restraints, claimed he had business, shoved you in the room, and left the two of you in his 'playroom'.

How long had Kaneki been gone?

You forgot how long it was, when you saw him a surge of emotions threatened to rip through you.

Fear and horror at what he now looked like. Hair, a snowy white from all the stress. His skin was mutilated, purple, from the multiple times it regrew. His eyes were tired, scared, and terrified. His fingernails were black, probably from the multiple times Jason had torn it off. His clothes were mere rags.

He was a ghost of the former Kaneki Ken.

You wanted to hug him, touch him, hold him. But you couldn't. Kaneki, was obviously hungry. It was obvious from the way he looked at you. A kaleidoscope of love, pain, fear, sadness, desire, and hunger, were reflected in his grey eyes. The same grey eyes, you could find yourself lost in for days.

You yearned to touch him. You wanted to do something, hold his hand, run your fingers through his hair. But he had clearly warned you against doing that. He might lose control and eat you.

Jason seemed intent on starving the two of you. No food came for you and the only food that Kaneki could have, was you. Kaneki was doing his best to hold back. He kept as far away from you as possible and he didn't want to talk to you. You called out to him, hoping he would talk to you. Hoping to hear his glorious voice. The same voice you could hear in your dreams, replayed before you were taken to this hell.

How long had it been since you were trapped?

You didn't know.

You didn't want to know.

You were dying, you were dehydrated, starving, tired, scared. Kaneki wasn't feeling any better. He had been doing everything he could possibly do to hold back from eating you. Sleep seemed to be the only way for him to escape. In the dark of the night, you heard it.

And you realized, only one of you was going to survive this ordeal.

"I'd give him a day before he caves and eats his beloved human," a familiar voice says.

He twitches as he smells you moving toward him. He pounces on you, Kaneki is drooling, looking at you like you're a 5 star meal. He's about to take a big bite of you until he feels your hands on his back, clutching at his shirt, embracing him. He stops, sits up, and pushes you away.

"Don't do that, please," he begs. "I don't want to do it. I don't want to eat you."

"I don't care," you whisper, walking towards him again, you're hugging him.

"Please," he begs.

You silence him by placing your lips on his and it's like you weren't here. It's like you were back at Tokyo with him, in the second floor of Anteiku, in the breakroom, doing what you usually did.

"Only one of us is going to get out of this Kaneki, and it's going to be you."

"No," he shakes his head, "we're going to survive. We're going to get out of here, we're going to live, we're-"

"We're dying, Kaneki," you interrupt, "I'm only here for a reason and that's for you to eat me."

"I won't! I will never!"

"You will. I don't mind, as long as it's you. I don't mind you being the one."

"(Name)."

"I love you."

"I love you," he whispers and this time, he's the one who kisses you.

His meal was delicious, so sumptuous, you were embracing him the whole time. He was crying the whole time, crying from sadness or from his lost love.

He didn't know.

But he knew one thing for sure.

He was going to kill Jason in the most horrible way possible.

"I'll avenge you, (Name)."

"I'm looking forward to it, Kaneki."
